This encounter is typical of the diplomatic life in Madrid during the hot summer.  Many European ambassadors (Germany, Poland, etc.) attended the farewell dinner, including of course our Head of Mission, who always maintains the best relations with the ambassadors of our beloved island.

In Madrid, the diplomatic corps is composed of 124 resident ambassadors, as well as representatives of international organizations. Which means that diplomatic life is quite full, with all the National Holiday receptions of the other embassies we attend by courtesy.  Also, the Kingdom of Spain requires of the Order of Malta to have a resident ambassador in its capital.
