On Friday 21 November an important act of imposition of the Collar of the Illustrious Order of the Golden Fleece took place at the Royal Palace in Madrid, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the reestablishment of the monarchy. The awardees were H.M. Queen Sofía of Spain, for her immense participation in the monarchy during so many years, Their Excellencies Mr. Miguel Herrero and Mr. Miquel Roca, Founding Fathers of the Spanish Constitution in 1978 and H.E. Felipe González, President of the Spanish Government between 1982 and 1996.
Our ambassador was invited to this ceremony as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps to Spain.
